In particular when your tech goes down, your industry collapses, and you just lost money.
“Specify. Sell. Repeat” is back, because this is a LIFE SKILL!
Your website down?
Your socials hacked?
Internet blown up and everyone used to doing business through the internet needs to step out of their house
– blinking against the light!-
and make connections in the real world?
If they want their business to survive that is…
Or, if you’re used to using your voice or body for your work, and you can’t rely on those for a while;
How’s your business holding up, my friend?
Waiting for it to blow over?
Been there.
After one week of being sick, and therefor not teaching or mentoring and not making videos for YouTube either;
And now WordPress blocking me from using my business page because of an entirely neutral payment thing I had to look into over the weekend, to avoid losing money to scammers-
I can tell you this much;
I?
Was not ready.
I?
Have not been doing business as usual, and as a result not been doing business at all.
Which is something that only happens if your daily selling is not ingrained.
If selling does not come as naturally as breathing.
If it’s not as natural as breathing? Well of course you think you can go without for a while.
But selling is not Netflix;
You may feel weird about it, but you can’t go without.
Not as a business.
And also, you should stop feeling weird about it!
So, Rock Star business owner;
Have you made it your number one priority to sell, regardless of whatever?
To make money today, and ->monetize<- an inconvenience.
Feel challenged by it.
And absolutely not “just” because money is the blood of your business, the arteries, the lifeline, but also because selling, is a communication tool.
It is the primary and frankly the most logical way of showing up for your clients.
Nothing says “Consistency” and “Reliable” as much as knowing that the sun rises every day, and you (put in the name of your business) sells every single day.
A business that’s invisible or dropping out for not reason, is eerie and weird.
So show up for your clients daily, and tell them what they can buy from you.
Don’t be like me, the past week.
Of course I worked! I got plenty done.
But I did not show up.
I did not do what I said my job was.
And I was not visible.
And I’m not even talking about passive income so that technically even when you are really sick, you are still making money from marketing and sales structures you set up prior to that-
I’m talking about knowing how to switch between online and offline.
Writing and speaking.
Video and real life.
I can tell you that I really was just waiting, the past week, until I had my voice back to pick up work.
Until yesterday, and I noticed WordPress had started messing with my other business website, and I thought:
“Wait a minute!!”
It wasn’t until then, that I realized I had been vastly underachieving.
The moment you wait for your ideal circumstances to be reinstalled, before you pick up doing whatever it is you do;
Is the moment you step on a very slippery slope….
It’s a way better strategy to use whatever resources you DO have,
and learn to run your business regardless of the circumstances.
I could still have sold written coaching for yoga, or written mentoring;
I could have written my yoga book The 9 Steps Of Yoga – and have had it on sale on Black Friday!
Yet, I did none of that….
So here I am, bringing back the offer that for reasons now a mystery to me, I took down last summer.
